Ligstad’s Annual Street Store Brings Hope to Alberton
On Saturday, 30 May 2026, around 250 volunteers came together at Ligstad with one purpose: to serve the less fortunate and bring glory to God through their actions.
The annual Street Store Project took place at Ligstad, where more than 1,500 of Alberton’s most vulnerable community members were welcomed and served. Through the generosity of many donors and volunteers, people received clothing, shoes, toiletries, food, prayer, and words of encouragement.
Our goal was to restore dignity and bring hope to those facing difficult circumstances, reminding them that they are valued, loved, and cared for—especially by their Heavenly Father. We wanted every person who attended to know that they are not forgotten and that there is a community willing to walk alongside them.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to every individual, organisation, school, church, and business that generously donated items, assisted with collections, or volunteered their time to make this project possible.
A special thank you goes to Rene Cloete from Doxa Deo Meyersdal for leading the project. We also acknowledge the valuable contributions of volunteers from Ligstad, Alberton Lions, LOTS, Impak Church, Sole2Sole, and many others who worked together to make the day a success.
Many hands truly make light work. As God’s people, we are called to be His hands and feet on earth, reaching out to those in need with compassion and love. To Him alone belongs all the glory.
