The Ligstad Preschool is distinguished by it’s Christ-centered approach, which focuses on knowing God and loving people. Ligstad is dedicated to developing a spirit of excellence, to the development of the whole individual and to the service of God and others. Our Culture fosters an engagement with learning, strentgh of character, a mind-set of innovation and leadership. Each child has great potential and unique God-given gifts and talents. At Ligstad we develop and release them into their unique calling.
Pre-prep children are catered for as individuals, recognizing their different strengths and abilities to preform and achieve across subject areas and activities according to the GDE Caps Curriculum.
Your child will start their faith journey in the guidance of our caring Christian staff. We encourage children to explore and grow in their relationship with Jesus through:
- Daily classroom devotions and prayer.
- Faith-in-action opportunities.
- Bible story reading.
Our program is based on the GDE Caps Curriculum (Registered at the Gauteng Department of Education). Development of Perceptual skills is important for school readiness. This is an important part of your child’s educational journey to ensure that he/she foster a love for learning and a positive schooling experience. The curriculum covers the key learning areas of English, Mathematics and Life Skills.
It would seem that life gets more challenging every year. When life starts to get you down, Ligstad provides help in the form of our resident social worker and team of volunteer counselors. The following onsite services are provided:
- Parental guidance.
- Emotional support to both parents and children.
- Trauma counselling.
- Play therapy.
- Support groups.
Our learners are treated to delicious, healthy and hearty meals on a daily basis. We provide breakfast, a tea time snack, a cooked lunch as well as an afternoon snack.

Ek is baie gelukkig met die Ligstad voorskool. My oudste seun het Graad R by Ligstad voltooi in 2023 en my jongste is tans by Ligstad ingeskryf in hul graad RR-klas. Die opvoedkundige-program wat Ligstad aanbied is werklik iets om op trots te wees. Ligstad plaas hul kinders se belange altyd eerste en ek is persoonlik baie dankbaar vir ‘n voorskool soos dié van Ligstad.
