Ligstad Angels Reach Out to Alberton’s Seniors (15 April 2026)
The Ligstad Alberton Angels volunteers had an early start this morning with a simple but meaningful mission: to invite the older persons collecting their SASSA pensions at Shoprite in Alberton North to our upcoming Pancake Day on 15 April. Older persons hold a special place in our hearts at Ligstad. We believe we have both the privilege and the calling to walk alongside the seniors in our community, creating opportunities for friendship, encouragement, support, and belonging through our Ligstad Angels programme. As we visited both Shoprite in Alberton North and Alberton City, we shared invitations, enjoyed heartfelt conversations, and had the opportunity to spread God’s love through kindness and genuine care. Every conversation reminded us that each person has a story worth hearing. We also had the privilege of treating many seniors to delicious pancakes and warm fellowship. We listened to their experiences, celebrated their strengths, and learned more about their needs so that we can continue to serve them in meaningful ways. A heartfelt thank you to every Ligstad Angels volunteer and Ligstad staff member who made today possible. Your compassion and willingness to serve are helping us build hope, strengthen community, and ensure that the older persons of Alberton know they are seen, valued, and loved.
